I decided to launch a newsletter at elproducts.com called CHIPs. In it I will cover various topics realted to any new book launches, corrections and any new project ideas. I’ll also introduce interesting products I find and review of those products. I won’t be selling the email addresses to anybody. The list of subscribers will stay within elproducts.com. Advertising may be included in the future to help pay for any costs associated with CHIPs but initially it will be advertisement free.

The response to my latest book “Beginner’s Guide to Embedded C Programming - Volume 2″ has been phenominal. Thank you to all those who purchased the book. When you spend a year of your time writing what you believe to be a book many will benefit from you hope you get it right. So far it looks like I did.

Now on to future books. I have several in the works but I’d like to get your feedback on what book you would like to see next. Respond to this blog post and let me know what you would like to see me publish next.

After much work, my latest Embedded C book “Volume 2″ is released.The book is targeted for official release date of July 15, 2009 but if everything goes right it may ship before that date.I’ve included the table of contents so you can see what topics are covered. This book picks up where the first Beginner’s Guide left off and introduces the most popular topics requested by the readers of the first book.These two Embedded C books form a home study training program for learning embedded C programming on the Microchip PIC.I also used the same programmer and hardware but added a breadboard and a few sockets to the development board to make it a great learning tool. This way those that bought the hardware for the first book don’t need to buy another. They just need to purchase a few low cost components all described in Chapter 1. I hope it meets your expectations. The cover design is still in its final stages so the book will probably look a little different than what is shown. This was just an early mock-up.

It’s clear based on feedback that the preferred title for my next book is “Beginner’s Guide to Embedded C Programming - Volume 2″.The manuscript is complete. I will be posting the table of contents within days on this site and the book should be released within 30 days or less. Stay tuned.

My next embedded C book is coming along great. I hope to release it by end of June if not sooner.I’ve turned on comments to get your feedback. Which title do you prefer for this follow-up book to my first “Beginner’s Guide to Embedded C Programming”.

Choice 1) “Beginner’s Next Step Guide to Embedded C Programming”
or
Choice 2) “Beginner’s Guide to Embedded C Programming - Volume 2″

Either way the subtitle will be “Timers, Interrupts, Displays, Communication and more using the PIC16F690 and the HI-TECH Pro Compiler”

Our website has successfully moved to a new larger server. It took a lot of time but this should offer us more features. Look for an email sign-up to notify about new books or other features and a newsletter in the future and updates on Chuck’s next C book. It’s still on track to release summer 2009.

I use the PICkit 2 programmer for most of my projects.
I recommend you keep the latest version of manual and software on your PC.
All the supporting software and documentation can be found on the Microchip website but here is a shortcut link to get there easily.
